About Rosa

Baking is the hobby she leads with, and it explains a surprising amount. Rosa bakes properly, bread rather than cakes, which requires patience, timing and an acceptance that some things cannot be rushed. All three qualities transfer directly to her company. She is the least hurried woman on this board, and guests who arrive tightly wound tend to leave two hours later having forgotten what the hurry was about.

Record collecting is the second interest, the crates at the Waterlooplein end of town, jazz and old soul mostly, and Tina hunts the same shelves. Galleries are the third, the small independent rooms rather than the national institutions, and she is happy to spend a whole afternoon in four of them. None of this is performed for a profile; ask her about any of it and the answers are specific.

The details are short. Twenty-five, 160 centimetres, curvy, chestnut brown hair worn long and curly, brown eyes, English. Relaxed boho elegance is what she calls it, and the four pictures, split between a sunlit garden wall and a hot tub, hold to that. Earthy and warm is the desk summary and it is accurate to the word.

De Pijp is her quarter, market at one end and quiet streets at the other, five minutes from the ring and half an hour from the airport hotels at most times of day. She takes daytime bookings gladly, a market morning, a long lunch, an afternoon that has no particular purpose. From €180 per hour, with the rates page showing how a longer arrangement is quoted, agreed and then left exactly as agreed. Nothing is reopened at the end of the booking, which is the sort of detail that matters more than most sites admit.

03 / Schedule

An evening with Rosa

Bread first. If the booking begins in the morning, Rosa will have baked, because it is what her mornings are for, and the day starts in De Pijp with coffee and a walk through the Albert Cuyp market while it is still setting up. Then the crates at Waterlooplein, jazz and old soul mostly, an hour that passes without either of you noticing. A long lunch follows somewhere small, and it is allowed to become the afternoon.

If the booking begins in the evening instead, the shape is a table with no hurry in it and, afterwards, one of the independent galleries she likes, if it happens to be open late, or a bar where the music is on vinyl. She is the least hurried person on the board; a guest who walks in tense usually walks out two hours on with no memory of the tension. Earthy and warm are the words on file. The ring is five minutes away, the airport hotels about thirty.

Final call

Rosa is on tonight's board.

Rosa is a good daytime booking as well as an evening one, and a market morning with a long lunch afterwards is exactly her speed.
